Wildheart Woodland Connection

I’m Laura, an experienced, qualified and BACP-accredited counsellor, and founder of Wild Heart Woodland Connection. After qualifying as a counsellor, I went on to undertake additional training in outdoor therapy and nature connection, allowing me to bring my love of the natural world into my counselling practice.
I offer one-to-one outdoor therapy for adults and young people, as well as nature-based experiences that create space for connection, reflection and wellbeing.
Outdoor Therapy
For me, outdoor therapy is about more than simply taking a counselling session outside. Being in nature can create a different kind of therapeutic space. We might walk, sit, talk or simply notice what is happening around us. The natural environment can become part of the conversation and sometimes offer a different perspective on what we are experiencing.
For some people, being outside makes it easier to talk. Walking alongside someone can feel less formal than sitting opposite each other in a counselling room, while the space, movement and sensory experience of being outdoors can help us feel more grounded and present.
I work with people around a range of issues, including anxiety and stress, life changes, difficult emotions, relationships, identity and personal growth. You don’t need to be an experienced walker or particularly “outdoorsy” – we simply find an approach that feels right for you.
Wild-heart Women’ Circle
I also run Wild-hearted Women, a nature-based women’s circle offering a chance to step away from the busyness of everyday life and spend some time connecting with nature and other women.
We begin with a mindful meditation before spending some quiet time individually connecting with the natural environment. We then come back together around the fire to share, listen and support one another.
There is no pressure to share anything you don’t want to. It is simply an opportunity to slow down, be present and spend time in a welcoming space with other women.
These circles are £5 to come along and take place once a month at Holistic Wellness Community: https://holisticwellnesscommunity.org
At the heart of all my work is connection - to ourselves, to each other and to the natural world. I believe that spending time outdoors can give us valuable space to pause, reflect and notice things that can easily get lost in the busyness of everyday life.
